About Us

Shelly Klein Consulting LLC is a team of dedicated educators bringing current best practices in English Language Arts and Mathematics to classrooms nationwide. Our consultants work closely with teachers, administrators, and students to strengthen instruction, build teacher confidence, and boost student engagement.

We provide tailored professional learning for general and special educators in grades K–8, featuring in-class coaching and demonstration lessons that make it easy to implement new strategies with confidence. Our interactive, high-impact workshops, offered as single- or multi-day sessions, deliver practical tools educators can use right away.

We pride ourselves on building respectful partnerships with schools and delivering practical and current, support that leads to meaningful results.

SHELLY KLEIN

Shelly Klein

Shelly Klein has been a successful educator for the past 34 years. Her experience ranges from classroom teacher and school administrator to staff developer and literacy consultant. Shelly has written charter applications, lectured at the college level as well as authored district-wide curricula. She has provided professional development for well over 250 schools and has worked for many years utilizing the ongoing professional learning model for literacy development and change. Shelly has presented single and multi-day workshops in public, private, independent, parochial and charter schools both locally and on a national level. She holds a Masters Degree in Education and Reading, is a certified Reading Specialist, and former New Jersey Governor Teacher of the Year. Shelly is best known for her extensive knowledge in Literacy, her experience and sensitivity in teaching a variety of learners, and her kind, supportive manner.

SANDI STERN

Sandi Stern

Throughout her more than 30 year career, Sandi Stern has served as an elementary school classroom teacher, as a district literacy coach, as a staff developer, and as an adjunct professor. Her extensive experience coaching teachers and administrators and designing curriculum is matched by her warm approach to building relationships and in her tailoring of workshops to fit the needs of each district. Her experience working with urban and suburban districts, public and private parochial schools, and MLL literacy, helps Sandi provide customized professional learning that empowers educators in grades K-8 with the tools they need to support the literacy development of their students. Sandi believes that time spent engaging in professional learning together can directly correlate to a deep love of teaching and an increase in student engagement and excitement for learning. Sandi holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University.

STACY ELMAN

Stacy Elman

Stacy Elman is a dedicated educator and engaging presenter who takes a student-focused approach in all of her work. Over the past sixteen years she has worked as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, curriculum developer, parent educator and literacy consultant. Stacy is driven by a desire to share her love of learning with others through meaningful collaboration. As a literacy consultant, Stacy thrives on building relationships with the educators, administrators and students with whom she works. She believes that strong literacy skills are the key to success in all disciplines and is driven by her desire to help all children develop into avid, skilled readers and writers.

CEIRE MONAHAN

Ceire Monahan, PhD

Dr. Ceire Monahan is a professional development specialist, mathematics education consultant, and education researcher. She completed her doctorate in 2020 from Montclair State University. Her dissertation, “Fostering mathematical creativity among middle school mathematics teachers” focused on developing a professional development program to encourage innovative ways to implement creativity in mathematics classrooms. As a former mathematics teacher, Ceire is interested in researching and implementing teaching practices that engage and encourage students to see the importance of mathematics outside of the classroom. She supports pre- and in-service elementary, middle, and high school teachers with research-based mathematical practices to increase students’ mathematics achievement. Her research interests include creativity in mathematics, problem-based learning, and professional development.
